PhotoShine is a simple tool that offers a very easy way of creating photo collages using your own pictures. In my opinion, this neat application comes with two major advantages. The first advantage is its simplicity. You are not required to have any design skills or knowledge in order to be able to create photo collages using this simple tool. In fact, even complete beginners can use it without any problem as it comes with a very minimalistic and straightforward interface.

 There are no intricate settings or complicated menu and every main function is easy to find and access. The second major advantage is its large collection of templates, nicely organized by categories such as “love”, “cartoon” or “magazine”. Some of these templates are really appealing (I liked the “magazine” ones quite a lot), while others are childish or even plain kitschy‎. You can also perform some basic photo adjusting and resizing but don’t expect any advanced photo editing possibilities.

All that this tool basically does is letting you embed one of your photos into one of the provided templates. Sometimes this is enough to create impressive photo collages. Sometimes it’s not. Anyway, considering the many other similar tools that often provide the same advantages or even more, I think that PhotoShine’s price is pretty hard to justify at the moment. Maybe its future updates will offer more and make me change my mind.
